Natalie Lue: My 'Friends With Benefits' Relationship Was Fun, But I ...

So-called "friends with benefits" relationships ? in which friends supposedly hook up with no strings attached ? have their emotional complications, but can those be managed? Natalie Lue, founder and writer of the Baggage Reclaim blog, spoke with HuffPost Live host Alyona Minkovski about her experience in a "friends with benefits" relationship.

"It was fun at the start, but as I think what tends to be the case in these situations, one person always wants more," she said. "I used friendship as an excuse to sort of paper over my feelings in the situation."

When push came to shove, both the relationship and the friendship suffered.

"It wasn't really necessarily about the fact that we'd slept together, it was what sleeping together revealed about our friendship," she added.

The discussion also featured the sex columnist Justin Lehmiller and Sevin Philips, founder of Relationship Counseling Center.
